- Farnborough Council (185): -(Continued)
- Due to unforeseen circumstances I was unable to attend
the 90th Anniversary Mass at Westminster Cathedral, which
disappointed me greatly, but I hope that those of you who
managed to get there found the experience uplifting.
- We are looking for perhaps up to half a dozen brothers
who can find the time to assist in the running of our bottle
stall at the Cove Summer Fayre so if you can then please let
me know – many thanks.
- Our Sponsored Walk is now on Calendar and I hope the sponsor
forms are now in prominent locations around our churches and
the respective congregations have been duly briefed in what
it's all about.
- Eastleigh Council (393)
- We congratulate Brother Tony Goodburn and his wife Moira
for being awarded the Diocesan medal for their work for St.
Dismas.
- The Council are organising a skittles tournament between
the six parishes in Three Rivers Pastoral area for Thursday
November 19th.
- Hoping that we may be able to enrol enough new brothers
in the Hampshire Downs Pastoral area to re-erect a council
in Winchester Brothers have made presentations from the pulpits
in the churches on the last Sunday in September with help
from other councils and from province, and on Sunday, October.
4th Brothers from all Councils in the Province are asked to
come and help at Masses at:-
St. Thomas More, Stockbridge 9.0 am
St Stephen’s, Olivers Battery 9.15 am
St Gregory’s, Alresford 11.0 am.
- Isle of Wight Council (411):- Brother Terry
Keeler writes:
- On Sunday Oct 4th The Island Knights are preparing for
a Divine Mercy service at St David's, East Cowes, Sister Stella
of South Wight will provide service sheets with an English
translation beside the Latin.
- Much work on planning a sung version of the Divine Mercy
within the next year. A special score is being written by
the Moran sisters in the South White parish. It is hoped to
make not only a CD but also a DVD of the recording. Present
options for the recording are either Quarr Abbey or St Mary's,
Ryde.
- The October Rosary Crusade aimed at children and young
people has been organised. Forms have been delivered to Knights
and other helpers all over the island.
