FROM THE COUNCILS [CTND]

- Poole Council (232) [ctnd]
- Social: -
- Our annual Carol service raised £86 for The Dorset
and Somerset Air Ambulance. The event was very poorly
attended and brings into question the commitment of the
council Brothers in supporting such events. Next Christmas
we are considering changing the venue and time to a Saturday
afternoon at Asda in Poole. Our thanks to Michelle for
providing the music.
- Due to weather our Lemon Aid concert before Christmas
had to be cancelled, it has now been rescheduled for late
January or early February.
- We have received the Grand National Draw tickets, all
monies and stubs must be returned to me by next months
meeting.
- Eastleigh Council (393)
- Three new Brothers were initiated during Mass at Holy Cross
Church on Sunday January 23rd. We welcome Brothers Tony Holland,
Lee Stangroom and Frank Orique
- Sadly, our attempt to re-erect a council in Winchester
has not been successful. The two Brothers, Kevin Sheehan and
Patrick Poyntz-Wright have worked very hard but have not received
the support of other parishioners and have now asked to resign
from our order.
- Our January meeting was held in St. Andrews Church Hall
at North Baddesley so that the children preparing for first
communion could use the cloister at St. Edwards Church, our
normal venue.
- This month weconsidered some of the suggestions made at
the Day of Recollection in December.
- What has happened to the “White Flower Collection”
that we organised in the past on the feast of the Holy Innocents?
- Brother Neil Hendricks is making arrangements for the Council’s
annual dinner at Keats’ Restaurant on Friday February
25th.
- Brother Victor Sullivan is making arrangements for another
“Southern Minstrel Concert” in August.
