PROVINCIAL & YOUTH MATTERS

Who says that Knights are not active? October is the month in which we hold our Rosary Crusade for peace. May I urge all Councils to make this their Action for this month. At the end of this month our Provincial Grand Knight will be attending Supreme Council. During the Supreme Council meeting the new National Action Project (For Vision Aid Overseas) will be launched. As soon as I have details I wll be sending them to all Council Action & Youth Officers. On November 10th, we will be meeting at St. John’s Cathedral, Portsmouth for the Annual Mass offered by Bishop Crispian for our deceased brothers I look forward to meeting you all then. On Saturday November 14th Father Tom, Our Provincial Chaplain, will lead us in a ‘Study Day’ at Wisdom House, Romsey, we will be studying the Encyclical Letter, ‘Caritas in Veritate’ from Pope Benedict XIV News that has just broken - Pope Benedict XVI will be paying a state visit to England some time next year. When Pope John Paul II visited England in 1982 the Knights of St Columba were asked to provide stewards at the events that he attended, I wonder if we will be asked again next year? Will we be ready?
